Trained in Graphics at Kingston University, followed by a Masters Degree in Printmaking at UWE, her striking illustrative and typographic style, coupled with her witty storytelling have resulted in an award winning and ever-growing collection of acclaimed picture books (15 published to date with 4 more due for release over the next 18 months).

Published by Harper Collins, Puffin, Hachette (Orchard) & Walker they have been translated into 15 languages. Her most famous creations to date are the Love Monster series (a US No.1 Best seller) and The Lion Inside (illustrated by Jim Field – 2016). Her newest books ‘The Koala who could’ (illustrated by Jim Field), ‘Love you hoo’ (self-illustrated) and ‘Snowflake in my pocket’ (illustrated by YuRong) are published this year. Her titles have been translated into 14 languages. She was World Book Day illustrator for the UK in 2014.

Living on a smallholding near the sea with her fiancé Robbie, their daughter River, a dog named Elvis, she has also turned her philosophies on life into a professional speaking career which has taken her all over the world including visits to the Caribbean, Bali and America and most recently China, as a visiting author/illustrator in Bejing and Nanjing this Autumn.

  • She has had quite a few former lives, including a stint as an air hostess for Virgin Atlantic (during which time she found herself unexpectedly visiting Necker Island).
  • She was also once taken hostage by daleks when working as a TV extra on Dr. Who.
  • She has run close to 50 long distance races including ultra-marathons all over the world, the most bonkers of which was the midnight sun marathon in Norway (when it rained the whole way round and she was heckled by night-club revellers at the finish line).
  • She collects alphabets and hats
